The class takes a verse-by-verse approach to explore how the message was understood at the time it was written and how we can apply it to our lives. <br><br>Each member&#8217;s comments and experiences are an important part of the class.<br><br>The class is lead by Diana Nevans.<br><br>We have had members from age 12 to 90.<br><br>Please join us at 10:00 for prayer and praise.<br><br><strong>All ages are welcome.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-bea9d4dc\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-5800e453\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Upper Room Class<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">The \u201cUpper Room\u201d Sunday school class consists of people ages 20-65, single and married.<br><br>We meet upstairs at the very end of the hallway. We study a variety of subjects and every class is devoted to the Word of God, illuminated by the Holy Spirit.<br><br>This is a very interactive class where we all learn from each other. We also enjoy doing life together outside of class.<br><br>The teacher of the class is Heather Sneed and she has taught the class for the last 15 years. She is passionate about teaching and studying the Word of God and earned her Master\u2019s degree in Biblical Studies from Moody Theological Seminary.<br><br><strong>Everyone is welcome in this class.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-333cc457\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-cb453c6e\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">The Philadelphia Class<\/h4><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-e4244950\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-e868f052\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Youth \/ College Class<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\">A welcoming Sunday school class for youth and college-age students, focused on open discussion, faith exploration, and real-life questions.<br><br>The class encourages thoughtful conversation, community, and spiritual growth through Scripture, service, and shared experiences in a supportive, inclusive environment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-522c942c\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-9f50182d\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>The Gathering \u2013 College &amp; Career Sunday School Class<\/strong><\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-f6cb78d7\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-04ccd277\">\n<p style=\"font-size:15px\"><strong>The Gathering<\/strong> is a welcoming Sunday School class for college students and young adults in the career stage of life who want to grow deeper in God\u2019s Word and in meaningful community. This semester, we are studying the <strong>Book of Hebrews<\/strong>, exploring its powerful message of faith, perseverance, and the supremacy of Christ. We will also spend an additional <strong>three weeks in the Book of Joel<\/strong>, focusing on God\u2019s call to repentance, renewal, and hope.<br><br>We place a strong emphasis on <strong>Scripture memorization<\/strong>, having memorized <strong>Philippians 2<\/strong>, and we continue to encourage hiding God\u2019s Word in our hearts as we seek to follow the example of Christ.<br><br>The Gathering is also a place where relationships flourish. We enjoy getting to know one another, sharing praises, lifting prayer requests, and walking through life together in a Christ-centered community.<br><br><strong>In addition<\/strong>, our church actively supports and welcomes college students by participating in the <strong>Bryan College Church Fair<\/strong>, where we connect with new students and invite them into our church family and the life of The Gathering. Each student in the class receives a <strong>personal study book<\/strong> to support their spiritual growth \u2014 this semester\u2019s study is <em>The J-Curve<\/em> by <strong>Paul E. Miller<\/strong>, which encourages believers to follow the model of Christ through humility, sacrifice, and resurrection hope. During exam seasons, our <strong>Mission-Minded Women<\/strong> thoughtfully prepare and deliver <strong>care packages<\/strong> to encourage and support students during a busy and stressful time.<br><br><em>Interested in joining The Gathering? under a decade, there has been a faithful group that has worked in Jail Ministry at our local jail. Four days per week, we provide Bible class and encouragement to the inmates. They ensure that every person \u2014 whether in the sanctuary or watching online \u2014 can <em>see and hear<\/em> the service clearly and seamlessly. This includes operating sound boards, managing microphones and instruments, running the livestream on YouTube, displaying lyrics and videos on screens, and coordinating visuals during worship and sermons. Our heart is to come alongside ministries, encourage their work, and discover meaningful ways we can partner with them in service and prayer.<br><br>We meet <strong>every other month<\/strong> for a time of <strong>refreshments, fellowship, and learning<\/strong>. Born out of a personal testimony of God\u2019s provision during a time of great need, this ministry exists to give Him all the glory and to offer women who have been deeply hurt a fresh start, surrounded by the love of the church.<br><br>His Providence is a <strong>cost-free store<\/strong> where women can \u201cshop\u201d for essential items, including pajamas, everyday clothing, and outfits for job interviews. Children\u2019s clothing and basic toiletry kits are also available, and each woman will receive a Bible before she leaves.<br><br>The ministry is currently located in <strong>Room 203<\/strong>, up the stairs outside the Sanctuary. We have built onto churches, built homes, built community centers, as well as clothed and fed thousands of people over the years. Every year we take a team of over 30 people to serve in impoverished places, bringing the love of Jesus to wherever He leads us.<br><br>We started a feeding program in Nicaragua and have served over 250,000 meals over the last 10 years. Our church also always provides Christmas for several villages around the world.<br><br>Many of the children who have grown up in our church, that are now young adults, are now serving around the world.
